    • Can use it for BBQ? In case I run out of charcoal. Or maybe I just put a bag of charcoal in my trunk along with my grandma's bamboo cane. Will that work?

    • The best is you drive a car with reverse sensor. I think most cars have it now. And also fix the blindspot mirror. Its very useful really. You would thank the blindspot mirrors alot to come.
Practice makes perfect and think of your P plate as a privilege to make other cars wait. Take your time. Don't worry. Other drivers will understand if they see a P plate. Actually parking is pretty much guessing, judgement, trial and error.

Yes. I totally agree with you. I don't consider singapore to have high quality of life. Everyone here seems to have material as their primary goal. There's even cases of fighting with family members because of money. Apart from that, everytime you read the papers, you see sue here sue there, fine here fine there. $$$!!! Arrghh...

    • Pretty late reply but yeah I would believe Toyota is the largest car maker in the world. Their cars are also a value for money but they need to be more stringent on the guideline and quality when they outsource manufacturing.

    • Dude. Your reply is too long, I don't bother to read it. Here's my short reply to you.

One glance at your reply suggests that you're here not to give any productive advice or opinion. I bet everyone who reads it will agree with me.

      Here's an advice. Stop whining.

I did just that but some people still horn at me. WTF? I didn't take my own sweet time to park.

Nah, like I said in many other China car forums I have personally 'KILLED' here in SGF..., I'll pass. You want a tip on how not to waste your money by adding on crap to an already flawed design? Save your hard earned cash & look around some more. Heck, if you get a Chevy or a Proton, most ppl won't give it a second thought... let alone barrages of negative responses.

But seriously, for crying out loud in the name of God, Holy Infant Jesus, Buddha, Allah and other holy figures/deities in human history... WHY? Why would you do that to yourself? We all buy cars for different reasons, some cause they can and others cause they have to. But don't you think that after paying for the vehicle, you as a customer shouldn't have to fork out the cash and time to 'MOD' your ride just cause it is a sub-standard piece of engineering mistakes? It ain't a car-enthusiats thing like for the EVOs/WRXs, you did it cause you self-admitantly can't stand it...

The common excuse I've heard is a car is a car no matter.. Fair arguement.. Right? Wrong..., you may date a loose girl but you don't neccessarily bring her home to meet the parents and you don't very damn well marry the biatch. Well, maybe she is good in bed but in this case the China cars aren't even "a good lay". (For those WOLS ppl reading this, that was a metaphorical statement) Don't get me wrong, let's face the FACTS:

      1. Very questionable handling (Unsafe is an understatement)

      2. Cheap interior finish (Made from recycled plastic at best)

      3. Non-existant acceleration (0-100km in say a month and a half)

      4. Sub-standard safety devices (Airbags are optional if there are any offered)

      5. Medieval gearbox & suspension systems (Forget shift-timing, forget taking corners and good luck with pot-holes)

5 perfectly clear footnotes why nobody should buy these, for a mode of transport; for a paperweight or any other arbitrary reason. I hate to be the bad guy here.... But you want advice on what to do with it now that you've poured extra cash [to fix things that are not supposed to be fixed in the first place]? Take it somewhere secluded and buy a canister of gasoline..., burn it. Just burn it... Hopefully seeing the intense flames and inhaling the toxic fumes will help you make a better financial decision when you intend to buy your next car. You must have been damn near HIGH on some form of intoxicant when you bought that THING. No doubt, maybe one day China automakers will get it right.. maybe, don't hold your breath or else you might turn blue... But so long they cut & paste designs from other well knowns and don't pass the EuroCar test circuit and crash test, they will continue putting unsafe cars (not to mention UGLY) on our roads. Don't be a repeat offender, don't be a victim. Save up, get a car that both you and your family deserve. Both reliable & safe. Tolong, don't do it again... please?

Dude... you're so exaggerating. I don't think most people care who copy what. Most of the things we buy and used are somewhat copied from other manufacturers.

Besides, if whatever you're saying is true, I don't think the car can be sold in Singapore where vehicle guidelines is at its strictest. I'm not saying the car is awesome but I've drove it and I think its pretty decent for the price they're sold for. I find its better than Lancer GLX. To add, I'm driving a beemer to work. Shouldn't I be the one to say that it sucks? All it takes is some appreciation and passion for driving.

It all boils down to the driver to make a safe journey or not. Cars don't kill people. People kill people.

Maybe you're a pro U.S person. As what I know, US is threatened by China's economy. That is why they have dedicated researchers to find flaws in China's manufacturing. When U.S products contains flaws, the media somehow only mention it once. Propaganda... very little can be done to stop it.

Hell... I don't even like PRC. Taking away people's jobs. To hell with China and US. One is a douche, the other is a turd.

    • Who cares about loyalty. If you want loyalty, get a dog.
We live for ourselves and our loved ones. If we fight, we're fighting for ourselves and our loved ones. At the same time, can put it as fight for your country. Same effort, double credit, why not?

As a human, we're not supposed to be 'herded' by a 'farmer'. We should live free and die free. That is the way life should be.

Thank you all for reading. :)

    • If you go to IMH directly, it will cost you alot. Maybe around $80. But if you get a referral from polyclinic, it will reduce the cost to maybe around $30.

Find out the symptoms of a depression.
Then just go to your nearest polyclinic and tell the doctor that you might have a depression. Tell him your symptoms. The doctor will give you referral letter to IMH. Then go make appointment.

In the meantime, watch this clip maybe it will help

      Good luck.

Yes you're right. I am going to use the car mostly in malaysia. OPC would be best for me since now I hate driving to work due to the heavy traffic.

I drove the beemer in malaysia, i get some kind of stares like they want to eat me or something. Besides that, I keep getting speed ticket even though I didn't speed. I have to keep bribing the officer.

Proton is appealing to me because of the huge mods available in malaysia.

    • I don't own a car but I have the luxury to drive my dad's bmw everyday, which I just crashed 4 days ago (minor accident) and the petrol burns my pocket. My dad is rich but I'm not. But thats not the point. I want my own car.

      My Criteria is this:-

      1. I don't like hatchback, I like sedan.
      2. I only like compact or subcompact class.
      3. Engine 1.5 or 1.6 only.
      4. Budget 55k

I had the chance to drive some cars for 5000km that is in my criteria :-

      1. Lancer GLX
      2. Proton Waja
      3. Geely MK Sports
      4. Toyota Vios

Personally, I won't comment on any car that I've not driven and I hope you can do the same. I'm only looking for pricing = driveability+fuel+features. Nothing more nothing less.

These are my current standings. And personal opinions.

      1. MK (Maybe I had very low expectations of this car before I drove it)
      2. Waja (Pretty good, not as bad as I had imagined)
      3. Vios (Somehow I don't really like it)
      4. Lancer (Bad bad bad. This is out)

Any others I should try that fits these similar class?

Yeap... comparing the built of the first generation (CK) and next generation (MK), it is a huge difference. The MK is quiet, sound proof body (Don't make much noise when heavy rain). Bigger boot, solid door.... Maybe Geely might be the next toyota some years to come, maybe not. We won't know.

    • You should’ve took manual for Geely dude. Geely sucks to the bone when it comes to acceleration especially at the low rpm so if you’re driving an automatic that sucks at acceleration, driving in malaysia would be a pain when it comes to overtaking. Imagine you’re uphill, need to overtake a lorry going at 60kph and you’re probably on gear 4 or 5 by then. You can’t down shift to gain more power when overtaking using the opposite traffic lane.
Drove my friend’s Geely MK to malaysia but fortunately his is manual so its not that bad.

Btw, which shop sells the E-Power System? Does it make a big difference? Is it worth the investment?

    • I need help.

      11:10 a.m
Probation plate is obvious from rear of my car. I was driving along Ophir road, turned right to North bridge road, trying to filter left to the bus lane so I can go into Central Fraser Street at the Parkview Square building. Signal left, check rearview mirror, got white/silver car behind, check left mirror, no car on bus lane, check blind spot, nothing. I filter in, I think the white/silver car behind me try to overtake me on the left, despite me signalling. I couldn't see him coz I was concentrating on the bus infront of me incase it brakes. Then my car hit the right side of his car, it seems my front-left bumper scrapping his entire right side as he kept overtaking me.

He stopped and he's in front of me but I have to stop infront of him coz I'm at the turning already. Surveyed the damages... my car got 1 major scratch about 50cm. It seems obvious maybe because my car is black and the scratch is white.

Then, he (old driver, claimed that he's been driving for 30 years) kept insisting that I pay him $300 for the damages (Old mercedez donno what model) and any additional cost, I don't have to pay. I know by the book, its my fault so I told him to get his paint job and show me the receipt so I can pay him back. He said it will coz more than $300. He says, "Are you sure you want me to do that? It may cost about $400 to $600". But I insisted he go do that coz I seriously don't know how much it will really coz, skeptical of him that he might be trying to cheat me.

Few hours later, he called, saying that the workshop needs to keep his car for 2 days and I have to cover the cost of his rental car and will total up to about $600. If I can't make a decision now, he claims that he decided to go for insurance.

I can't go for insurance mainly because, 2 of my friends had their license revoked during their probation due to accidents despite not being their fault. Even my dad advised me not to go for insurance as it may lead to my license getting revoked.

      My Opinion

He knows I'm still under probation, he tries to take advantage of my 'cluelessness' and vulnerability of losing my license. Hell... I even doubt the accident is really an accident. The 'scratches' on his car might not even be scratches. Those are my tyre marks since I was turning left so my tyre is protruding a bit. Maybe it can be polish off.

Should I pay him $300? Is it worth $300?
