    • actually, everyday got many people die in this world, you all also never blink an eye.

Now got one Singaporean killed by terrorists, you all feel angry. Frankly speaking, the singaporean factor of MIss Lo death made me feel sad when i heard this news at first.I also feel angry towards the terrorist for killing her, as if she was my compatriot. I was thinking "bloodly hell, f----rs " in my mind too.

Nevertheless, I hope you all should know that terrorism and many crimes have been happening all along. If you guys want to do something about all these human crimes, you have gotta do something about it other than cursing than.

Now, she has died and is thus not existing anymore. No heaven, no hell. That is life, it could be her, it could be me. Well, the world belongs to those who manage to survive. Again, that is life.

    • Aiyah.. u all dun propaganda lah. The net amount of toen council money is still positive even after the loss. So can dun spread rumors and sway people into opposition or not.

You people always look at the negative side. Typical singaporean. I can see many coffeeshop people also picking fish bones again about govt and town council.

-First, they disclose the news, is honesty liao, so that is a good thing.

-Second, when they made money in the past, so even with these loss, there is still money still, so what is there to complain.

Thirdly, you people say the town council is gambler or corrupt, you all better dun anyhow say. Back with substantial argument. Wait you all kana sue then you know.

If town council got used our money for personal usage, then that is wrong. SO for all kpkb, please provide ample evidence instead of misleading readers... If really for embezzment, then we should really lambast the people involved, if not, dun anyhow complain.

    • As a witness, i did not see how she bang the tree. The only thing remember first is seeing a car flying across and landing upside down, triggering the alarm and me being in state of disbelief.

No wonder they say that watching movie cannot be compared as to the real thing.

    • There is a kerb which i believe is instrumental in causing the flip. Plus fast speed and this big tree. Therefore.

Kerb + fast speed + big tree = turn turtle

    • Yesterday, while i was driving along ave 3 ang mo kio, beside serangoon community club, or the place where sell many birds, at midnight 3pm.

Suddenly, through my windscreen, I saw a big car from right side of my view in front of me 5 to 8 metres ahead flying across and crashed onto the ground upside down.

Then, the car alarm went off. the car airbag was torn by the smashing glasses. I looked at the scene, feeling absolutely gutted in disbelief in my van. My mind was in auto pilot, and it seems what those people has described as a surreal experience. My mind just cannot believe that it is seeing and experiencing this thing.

I moved my van backed a little abit in case I scared her car explode, but then i decide, what the heck. ANyway, by now, i can see her crawling out of her car painfully and in shock. Lucky she was not trapped and crushed by her vehicle. I keep thinking after this incident how good her car must have been in safety features. Really a good buy.

As she stood up, I was the nearest towards her, almost no one still at the moment except me another indian person standing at the roadside. She walked towards me as i gesture her to move away from her vehicle. Still in trauma, she requested me for my phone to call her parents and a close friend. I then proceed to check if she has broken any bones or not. I discovered she has just a few cuts that are probably caused by smashed glasses. By now, the indian guy has helped me to call the ambulance. Within 2 minutes after she crawled out, there were already a group of motorcyclists stopping and helping out, some going to her car to retrieve some of her stuff.

Within 5 mintues, more people came and well, as usual, kapo abit. There was one guy like very professional with accident scene. He helped to stop the car alarm although the car was turn turtle and smashed in front. He also helped to cleared the debris to allow other cars to move. There were 3 lane and her car was smacked in the middle.

Soon, ambulance (civil defence) and her parents came... With a worried look on her mother face, I really emphatised with her mother how she feel at the time. I also pity that the girl has to go through this trauma. Actually, i was stunned and shaking when her car landed in front of my van and also when she borrowed my phone.

I hoped she is fine and will recover well.

    • Ah ya, there is nothing wrong with arsenal.

The problem is with all you fans and arsene wenger.

You all have too high expectation of arsenal. THat is it.

Arsenal can get 4th position is already quite good already. Stop thinking about being champion when you have a squad like that. I also dun fancy arsene wenger actually as a manager.

    • TO talk about euthanasia as immoral is just hypocritical when we still have not helped those who are suffering from pain of terminal illness but is not being able to receive good pallitative care to remove their suffering.

  • january's Avatar
    1,614 posts since Jan '05
    • can we say that all singaporean who suffer illness and its pain have received the maximum pallitative care possible? If not, then why do hospitals say that pallitive care is the best options when in fact many people are not receiving it due to shortages  and costs of hospices.

  • january's Avatar
    1,614 posts since Jan '05
    • hospice and pallitative care is not being extended to many sufferers of illness.

Under this circumstances, sufferers who are facing death soon should be given a chance to do euthunasia with all precautions in place before allowing them.

Only when hospice and pallitve care is able to reach all singaporean sufferers then can we say that enthuniasia is not needed. Until then, i think all talks about high moral ground of life preciousness is cowshit.

    • On hindsight, I agree that we should look at the net current asset of singapore money. Not just point at single huge loss and complain this complain that.

We need to look at the current overall profits and losses and the net amount before we criticise. I am eager to look at the newest rate of return after accounting for all these losses.

Hence, i will retract my position and wait for more information about this ABC kiam chay char lo ti company, whether if there is another mis decision involved.

Ya, i know learning industry is a rather low risk, but there are still factors to consider and investigate. Did temasak investigate correctly and look at the right citeria before they sink in the money.

Buying US treasury bills is basically buying up debts, with no promises that it would be returned. And it has completely no backing at all. It's value is decided by the USA's carrier fleets.

You need to seriously read up more before you start declaring that the PAP is being smart alecs...

Well, i am PAP voter by the way. However, i am unsatisfied with some areas of their managment.

This mistake, 400 million, could be unforseeable and well contained problem. On the other hand, it could be a big problem because so much money is involved.

If i have 400 millions, i probably could have served singaporean better than what ABC 'kiam cai chay lo ti' learning company. My rate of return would probably be 100%.

I seriously suspect that this is a avoidable investment which thus save us our singaporean money. To add fairness to my argument, i know that few months ago, singapore got print say that annual rate of return is 4%, which means that there is indeed growth.

This , therefore, could be the proof that says that my complaint is wrong because even after accounting for all these recent recession and stock plunging, the rate of return is still positive.

    • Why cannot govt just be simple minded and invests in low yield investment, or just simply buy the US treasury bills.

I suspect seriously its is a case of smart alectism in PAP govt. Too complicated analysis lead to errors.

They have corked up on this investment again. Wake up your idea, PAP. Let me join you all to make reforms. I think I know how to handle money better, really.

    • Look at what TOhari says the new day in new paper after arsenal won the match. Hmph, so hypocrite.

TOHARI: Arsene Wenger scored a major tactical victory on this occasion.

The transition from defence to attack is so important and while both teams were committed to attacking football, Arsenal were the ones who took their chances.

Without regular strikers Emmanuel Adebayor and Robin van Persie, their five-man midfield did so well to neutralise Manchester United's attacking threat.

On the other hand, fielding Park Ji Sung and Michael Carrick made United look a bit lightweight in midfield. I would have started with Ryan Giggs and John O'Shea, since Darren Fletcher was an injury doubt.

Cesc Fabregas, Denilson, Samir Nasri and Theo Walcott were all over United's midfield. Nicklas Bendtner and Abou Diaby merely served as decoys, creating space for Fabregas and Nasri to attack with deadly effect.

United created their fair share of opportunities because of their tremendous quality. But when Wayne Rooney missed that big chance in the 18th minute and then Cristiano Ronaldo in the 49th minute, it didn't look like it was going to be their day.

    • What aspect of insurance is important.

Should i buy hospitalisation insurance. It seems to make sense.

Any advice on what are the important thing to protect . MY situation now is that I do not have a lot of cash now in family due to low savings rate and poor money management.

My family got death, critical illness. But i think that is all we are covered. Have we not covered other areas that we should be covering. All maybe it is ok already.
